About
I work where target architecture, governance and rollout pressure meet.
I am Markus Krupp. For more than twenty years I have worked on SAP and architecture in international retail — fashion, FMCG and luxury, mostly in programmes bringing several countries, several brands or several grown systems together.
I started as a consultant at SAP AG between 2001 and 2007. That still shapes how I look at things: I know the product logic, not only how it was applied in one programme.
Then came years on the client side — enterprise solutions in department-store retail, retail technology, CRM and eCommerce in an international luxury group, and most recently architecture work in a large consolidation programme. I have sat on both sides of the table, which is why I know what a recommendation has to look like for someone to actually use it on Monday.
FirstRetail Consulting is deliberately small. I take few engagements, work personally, and decline what does not fit.

Digital is not a second tier here
In the luxury group I owned retail technology, CRM and eCommerce together — commerce, customer data and customer service in one landscape, not as an appendix to ERP. Afterwards I founded and technically led a digital consumer platform at EarlyBeep, owning product strategy, UX and UI, development, testing and deployment, and leading distributed engineering teams in Geneva, Lisbon and Cluj. It is the reason I can assess an implementation partner's proposal technically, and not only at slide level.
